(first real picture post! woo!)
i made this hat for my dad, although i am modeling it. i had a bunch of Red Heart laying around and this was the perfect way to get rid of some of it. it was really easy, it was also my first time doing short rows, and i like the way it turned out. i love the design!

it is really hard to get a view from above when you are wearing the hat, this is the best i could do.

i hope my dad likes it! its nice and thick, perfect for walks with the dog in the dead of winter!

Looks great!  It's a pattern I've been wanting to try since I first saw it as well!

I love it!  Where can I find the patter?  Is it too difficult of a hat to make for someone who has only knitted scarves (I love making scarves, but a girl's gotta move on).

Short rows are an 'advanced technique' but don't let that scare you...it's actually pretty simple!  I'm sure a quick google search (or even a craftster search) will turn up simple directions!

Ohh, I really like yours! I made one too. I used 4 strands of sport weight yarn, it was white, and s2 strands of Red Heart Symphony, which is worsted weight acrylic that looks mohair-ish. My  gauge was WAY off so, I did 3 repeats and it ended up about 24 inches. My hat is also  a lot longer than yours, but I didn't use the reccommened yarn, and I didn't check my gauge, so I think that's why mine is so huge.
But since I only did 3 repeats, the hat ended up a lot point-ier so I had to sew down the edge funny. I think I might rip mine  out and give it another go because it is really fun to do, and it doesn't take very long at all!
