My local charity shop has a sale on right now, all clothes are half price:) I bought a cute pink top, a skirt to match and a nice fluffy jumper as I seem to have run out  Undecided I'm going back on Monday for the massive wool blanket that I saw for 2. I'm going to dye it, felt it and make it in to a coat or cloak.

There's an ace shop on my road that's always full of amazing things - but I'm not buying more yarn that I don't have room or projects planned for...I'm donating to charity...innit.... teehee - here's what I got:

2 x 50g balls of mohair... purty purty colours
And about 250g of a fluffy nylon/acrylic blend. It's so soft and pretty.
And A set of dpns too... fun fun!
Now what to do with them?!

I managed to get a ball of really soft white wool for 50p from ARC Smiley I think that was a good buy!
Also, the other day, I went into Shelter, and found a gorgeous wooden oriental dish set, bowl, chopsticks, spoon and place mat, all for 1.50 (it was one of the brand new things the shop sells)

To the poster who talked about the Oxfam in Leeds, it's just silly, it's supposed to be a charity shop, not some speciality vintage...and I still don't understand why people pay so much for vintage, or wear half of it. (I have seen some nice vintage things, but not many)

I really love the smaller/independant charity shops, they actually have some decent things in Cheesy

Yup! I had a driving lesson - it was scary! My parents live in Plymouth - I'm glad I'm safely in the midlands right now...I'm worried plymouth will get drowned!

any one who lives in the Leeds area and knows where farmfoods is in Kirkstall should go to the shop next door to it called Harvard mills or something. I braved the weather and went inside. There is like tone of stuff (i.e. towels bed sets etc.) for extremely low prices, and its a total shame I'm not a knitter cause they where selling huge bags of 10 balls of "fashion wool" as they called it for only a fiver, that makes it 50p each which isn't bad.

If you're in the Leeds area, Crossgates is good for charity shops, there must be at least 6 down the one road(Austhorpe Road). my mum used to live there so I used to trawl them regularly but she's moved now Cry there are some of the more Old Style charity shops as well as mainstream so a good mix. Also Headingley has a quite a few, the best being the Mind shop!!! Does anyone remember the old Oxfam shop in Headingley which was knocked down to do stuff to the cinema??? It was FULL of the most amazing retro/vintage stuff at really cheap prices and had a transvestite guy working there. I was devastated when they knocked it down as the Oxfam that replaced it is rubbish now Angry
