Over the years I've managed to collect way too many shopping bags, and I can only use so many of them as garbage bags. I've found that the paper ones are great for gift wrapping, but I have yet to put the plastic bags to creative use. Any suggestions?

Sorry I don't remember where I saw this.
Cut off the bottom and the handles of the plastic bags, so you have a tube.  Cut into the tube at a shallow angle until you have a strip about 1 inch wide. Continue cutting at about 1 inch width moving round and round the plastic bag tube in a spiral until you come to the other end.
Use this long strip (combined with others) to crochet with.
If I remember, the person I saw crocheted bags with the plastic bag strips.

Jesus loves me, this I know.

Still don't know where I saw this, but above suggested craftster thread is much cooler than I remember.

Thanks for the suggestions and the link. A purse made out of bags is a great idea, and the picture looked awesome. I think I'll give it a try.
