Okay... this is my very first post so I hope I did everything correctly.
I just made this bag last night using tinafish's tutorial. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=35575.0 I did a few variations, but it's pretty much the same.  I think it turned out really great.  This is the first bag I've made that looks really proffesional!  I never knew how to do zippers correctly.  Hope you like it!

Here's an upclose pic of the pretty fabric.  Walmart- Yay!!!!

Nice job!  ^_^v
I just made a bag from the same tutorial and used blue oriental fabric like that as the liner.  It drove me nuts!  Did you hate sewing with it, or did you find a way to keep it from shifting/shredding/being generally obnoxious?

I'm glad you all like it!  I was really nervous about posting for the first time!  You all are very sweet.
Safety: I know... isn't it amazing that I found it at Walmart.  They have a few oriental type fabrics there now and they are only, I think, $2.98/yd.
Thing:  It was terrible working with this fabric, I agree.   I wonder if it would work to iron on a fusible ribbon on the edges or maybe even use nail polish on them.  Sounds like a lot of extra work though.  I'll have to try it with my left over fabric.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Also....I have a tip for everyone.  If you leave the space in the lining towards the top on one of the sides, after you turn it right side out then it's easier to stitch because you can pull it through the holes for the straps.  If that makes sense.

I thought about using a fusible interface with it, too, but was worried about it ruining the fabric.  I have a bottle of fray check I could have tried but I was just too lazy.  Also that wouldn't have kept it from shifting I don't think.
Anyway, if you have any luck controlling the leftover fabric let me know! ^_^
