I've been visiting various fabric stores around my area trying to find some nice fabric to inspire me to make some bags!

I found some cool fabric and I have made three tote bags. They are all the same size, and have a zipper pocket on the inside because I love pockets to put all your bits and pieces. I'm currently working on my online shop, so I can sell these. It should be finished soon. What do you think? Would you buy them?  Smiley

All of them are terrific, but I like the 3rd one.  A lot.  They look rather sturdy...almost like they're strong enough for use as shopping/grocery bags.  What are their dimensions?  To answer your question, yes, I would consider buying them (especially the 3rd one!).   Cheesy

The first one......I would take to the grocery store with me..........

The second one......to carry my library books to return and pick up new ones......

The third....also, books maybe but where else? To the park which I happen to live beside!

All of those are really lovely. But, I'm sorry, I can't pick a favorite.

thanks for all your feedback so far!

i'm from melbourne, australia, so I got the fabric at Spotlight and Kazari. I think the 3rd one is a very beach/summery bag - i saw the fabric and I just had to get it!

Yeah I've made the bags quite sturdy, so you can use them to carry all your bits and pieces.

The bags aren't that big, about 40cm high and 30cm wide, a little bigger than an A3 sheet of paper (for those not using metric measurements).

I'll post when my website is up and I've got other bags that aren't tote bags that I want to sell.

thanks,

I love the japanese cotton fabric as well, its from this warehouse I discovered that import japanese fabrics, silks, cotton, obi (for kimonos i think) etc. There's so much more I'd buy there except its quite expensive!

hey tarks, I adore each and every one of them Cheesy

I'm in Sydney and haven't found any places here which sell unique fabrics like that. Melb has a better selection for a sure!

I'd definitely buy them!

Hi RedRose,

Are you in Melbourne/Australia? I'm from Melbourne and I bought the fabric from Spotlight in Coburg, it was $12 or so a metre.

The website is www.spotlight.com.au but I don't think you can buy that fabric online because they have so many, it looks as though you can buy their other products online (bed sheets, homewares etc).

Hope that helps!
