I am just finishing up my first swap but it's not complete yet as I have yet to receive all of my swaps (total of 11 to receive and I sent out 11...re: crazy quilt square swap).  Do I have to wait until I get my rating to join this swap or can I put my name in now?

If you've sent out all of yours, then I would assume that you have fulfilled your obligations as outlined in the swap.  I don't see why you can't join this one now.  I'll PM the organizer of your swap just to verify that you've sent yours out, and I think that will be proof enough. Smiley

Well no one has rec'd any of mine yet but yes indeed I did ship them out.  Well, all except one per the organizers request.  If she says yes, just let me know and put my name on the list for this one.  Thanks!  Smiley

Thinking about this one.  Fall is a favorite season - love fall colors, leaves, and crisp cool air.  Great idea.

Is it ok to ask a few questions here?  Will put out a few and if not appropriate let me know and will delete.

Anyway, I'm wondering if this swap is just sewn fabric purses or if some craftsters who work in other mediums such as knit, crochet, decoupage, duct tape, might also be entering?  My only talent is sewing; and while it would be enjoyable to receive a sewn purse( love seeing how others sew too), I would also be more than willing to swap my sewing talent with someone who does a style of work that I don't do well.

What happens if someone wants something we just are not able to manage either talent wise, budget wise, time wise,  or supply wise (sometimes it is just impossible to get desired supplies/findings locally).   I would hope someone would tell me if my request presents a hardship for them and by the same token would be understanding if their request was beyond my means/scope.

Have only done one SWAP and it worked out well. Still these two questions nag me and I would just like to be more comfortable about them before signing up.

My hope is to be stretched and challenged and to share work; but don't want to get in way over my head or to push someone else beyond their limit.

Thanks.

So far no one has said anything in their questionnaire that leads me to believe that they are making anything other than a sewn purse.  However, this is not to say that they aren't.  And, people with all talents are free to join the swap!

So far it's been my experience that no one is too specific with their requests.  In this swap, the questionnaire should be used as a guideline for the swappers.  None of the questions are too specific other than general likes/dislikes of color choices and bag style.  So far everyone seems pretty open to most anything.  So, you don't have to worry about being paired with someone who only wants X kind of bag with X details, etc.  As for how much to spend on your bag... well, there really haven't been any discussions of price in a lot of the swaps I've seen.  It's my understanding that if there's a concern about that, the partners should discuss and set a limit on what they are comfortable with.

I hope I answered your questions! Smiley

Also if you search through the stuff you already have, you might find something that will work perfectly without spending a dime.  Just a thought.  Smiley
