K, so, I went to Kmart (I guess the Kiwi/Aussie version of Walmart) and got me some granny shoes. They were hideous and grotesque, but only $7.43. I had to do something with them, and came up with a plan. Muahahahahaaaa. So, anyway, I cut them up, painted them, added some elastic, and now I lurves them.

In their original fogey state (note the socks- I really love dots). Aren't they icky?

Them now- the coolest shoes on earth! The photo kindly exaggerates the poor paint job and splodgeyness, which is always nice. They are kinda like vans crossed with mary-janes crossed with ballet flats I guess. They are cherry red with leafy green dots, elastic and little bittys on the sides (which you can't really see).

Peeking out from the bottom of my jeans. Yep, I'm pigeon toed.

Please comment, I would love to know what y'all think.

ahaha, those are supercute! love the polka dot effect

btw, we have kmart in the states. it's like the less evil version of walmart, which provides welfare forms for its employees in-store, and is widening the gap between developing and developed countries.
wow, sorry for the rant. i can't say walmart without an addendum.

stargirl52- Very clever and cute! They kind of make me think of ladybugs. How did you cut the shoes and keep your lines so straight? Exacto knife?

Good job!

First, may I say that those are probably the best shoe recons I've ever seen as they are completely adorable now, and second; I have never seen anyone else who stands pigeon toed like me, the shoes go way up for me just for the modeling stance. Lovely.
