Yay, I made one! I ended up drafting my own pattern, and I'm so pleased with the results. The hood look huge, but it really isn't! On the back it has lyrics from an X-ray Spex song and it also has dinky litle flowers all over it for extra cuteness. i put a mini pocket on the front too.
it ties at the bottom, and has one snap just under the bust area.

Okay, I'm slow.  I have just cut my fabric for my first hoodie, though.  It is going to be royal blue.  I am using a pattern for this one, Butterick B4198.  I might have to make some alterations to it, but we'll see.

OOh. I think ill have a go, armed with my trusty Winifred Aldrich 'Metric Pattern Cutting' book!
I bought some jade-y green fleecy fabric for a hoodie a while back, and then never got round to making one...so maybe this will spur me onto it...i was thinking of lining the hood with this psycadelic-ish fabric i got from the op-shop, and having a go at stencilling something on the back...I just need to get some ribbing for the band and sleeves...and i think ill do it this weekend!

i want to join. the thing is, i have this amazing navy fabric with white polka dots. it's thin and def. not sweatshirt material. but there's some quilted red fabric at joanne's i think would look super hot as the lining [possibly a reversible thing?] BUT i don't know if i have enough blue fabric...

can anyone give me an estimation of how much i'd need for just a tight fitting, long sleeved, hooded, zipper hoodie???

welllll i sort of got started on mine, but totally messed up with my pockets.  coudln't get the darn things on straight to save my life.  So i gave up and watched CSI instead.

guess i'll give it another whirl tonight.  i suppose i could leave them off, but like someone else said, hoodies need pockets!

I am still going with my hoodie, it has been driving me insane. For some inexplicable reason the hood was too small Angry.
I have spent days working up a new one. Hopefully today I can get it all sewn together. (Perhaps quitting smoking while doing this wasn't the best idea i have ever had?!? Wink)

Well, I finished mine today.  As usual, I made some alterations on the final product as I sewed along.  I didn't put a zipper in because I made it a little small.  Since I think it is too small to install a zipper in,    I think I'm going to close it now, ust in the middle, with some kind of giant safety pin or something, maybe a knitting stith marker.  OOOO, maybe a diaper pin with a duck or something.  I don't know.  As soon as I decide, I will post pics.
