so, out of servere boredom and the itch to craft i decided to transform these old, ugly boots i had lying around into works of art...
various acrylics
black boots
black shoe polish

these were origionally a pair of boots i wore in the wizard of oz, they had white seams on them that made them inbearably ugly- but i black shoe-polished over them in this picture ( apply it everywhere to make shiney/ clean )

then, on the left boot i painted a little rain drop  Cheesy ...just used acrylics, no fancy stencils for this gal!

close up...

then i added the rain bow..( more acrylics)

nother close up....

on the right i had cavorting lightning bolts( again acrylics!!)

close up, up, up!

the finished product!! (NOTE: these are the outsides of the shoes- so unless you want to keep your designs super secret, make sure you don't paint on the inside where the zippers are )now once you have painted spray with hairspray five or six times- MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS DRY BEFORE SPRAYING!!!!- let hairspary dry, spray again- that whole maneuver...try to wipe off excess- saves time and it also keeps boots tidy..be VERY careful when wiping don't just take a large sheet of paper towel and go nuts, then put shoe polish where there ISN'T paint- and viola!

here they are on me feet!

Those are lovely!
-Maybe if you put a whole lot of waterproof varnish on them could could wear them out in the rain too  Smiley

I'm going to do this.

I have a pair of boots very similar that I was going to get rid of. Now this is perfect!

Oh those are so cute!  I love the cute little raindrop Smiley

Step out on a moonlit roof
The radio leads a feel good revolution
Cigarettes and my closest friends
I tell myself that I have to remember this

Woohoo! Looks very cute.  Grin

And yeah, don't you just hate it when black shoes suddenly have white/beige edges? It loses the point of being a black shoe altogether.  Roll Eyes

The rain drop is especially adorable, hiding from the rain like that.  Wink

Just out of curiosity, how did the paint hold up over time? With the hairspray as the sealant?
