did you ever see the fantasia show a few years back? i think it was kama sutra or something, but either way. a guy toses a rifle, another guy from behind catchs it for him, and they continue to do tosses/catches like this until it's like a chain of 5 guys or so. i almost pee'd my pants when i saw that!

"i personally think that cg is hardest of all the sports"

Yeah...tossing a..hmm...5 foot metal pole into the air a few feet higher...than your head...trying to catch said pole...without killing yourself, or the persons around you. Color guard is so much harder. Smiley

yes, it is difficult, but keep in mind that cheerleaders toss people.

our guard tosses people too...while the person is tossing/catching a sabre, and then lifted onto another person's (our only guy's) shoulders.

colorguard is a part of marching bands, or exist entirely on their own in winter seasons.  they have flags on (usually 6 foot) poles, which are tossed or spun, and caught.  Rifles are just pieces of painted/taped wood that are shaped like a rifle, and sabres are thin swords (without sharp blades) that are also tossed and caught.  the guards perform to music, and compete regularly in the summer/fall season with the band, or to prerecorded music during the winter season indoors

Ah... all this talk of Color Guard takes me back. I was in guard my Freshman and Sophmore year of High School. I went on home school the end of my Sophmore year and I hated the fact that I couldn't do guard anymore. I loved it SOOO much. Ah.. and Winterguard was THE BEST. I still have all of my equiptment and I still take it out from time to time. Ah... how I miss performing. *Sniff*

Wow. Reading all this makes me realize how awesome my band program really is. I got to a school of more than 3,000 people with a marching band of about 300 (w/ guard.) Our band program has thousands upon thousands of dollars to share between the band and guard. Our girls keep moving up and up in the WGI circuit. Our school's only like 6 years old.

Back to the point: I think those shirt ideas sound pretty cool even though I'm not in the guard.
