Sometimes it's knit and sometimes it's crochet.

Is anyone else still working on their babes? I recently finished #4. This one is for my college freshman daughter. It is bigger than the others and I have it in front of my dooney for scale. I used worsted weight and made her entirely in the round. Then I crocheted her some shoes. Here is the Pink Wrap Around Top from the book. I crocheted the purple skirt from my own pattern.

Here's my first--a stash-buster so she's a bit pale (we nick-named her Albino Alice).

and in her other outfit...

I'm still having fun making these babes. This is a solid brown version of the Blue Bubbles Cardigan. I had to pick up several more stitches for the button band because it was too small and would not button.

This babe doesn't have an identity yet (no face or hair) and I'm still working on a skirt. I don't think I'll get tired of making these anytime soon, all of the previous ones have gone onto new homes. There are two more nieces waiting for theirs.

The babe is sitting on a crocheted chair from a Kitty Couches pattern for pet beds.

I finished the skirt. I used the Ruffle pattern from the Knitting on The Edge (Nicky Epstein) book. It is knit from the bottom up so I cast on double the amount of stitches needed to go around the waist. I followed the Ruffle pattern and added elastic to the casing at the waist.
