City/Area Swap; Extension: October 24th

i just learned how to make these last week! although it was from a friend who just calls them peanut butter balls. incredibly good, her aunt warned us that if we decide to make holiday food, we're only allowed to taste one and give the rest away.. too bad we didn't listen  i ended up double dipping a couple balls cause there was alot of chocolate left over.. so they looked a bit wonky

Buckeye Recipe

~makes about 100 (can be cut in 1/2)

Buckeye Candy
3 lbs confectioners sugar
2 lbs peanut butter, preferably chunky
1 lb butter
2-3 tsp vanilla
24 oz chocolate chips
1/4 bar paraffin

Mix together the first 4 ingredients until totally blended. You will
probably want to start with a spoon and finish with your hands. Roll
the mixture into balls the size of walnuts. In a double boiler, melt
the chocolate and paraffin. It helps to shave the paraffin to make it
melt faster. Using a toothpick, dip the balls into the chocolate about
halfway and then tip them back and forth to make the buckeye.
Refrigerate until chocolate hardens.

That's awesome! My roomate's from Delaware, OH, and she's making me some buckeyes for a christmas present! I'm excited! They sound so good!

Top is a cute purse. Unfortunately the mailman did not heed the do not bend label on your package and one of the snowflakes broke. It's  ok though if I can't fix it I'll just take out the thread and it'll still be awesome! Under that is the book of Mormon and the wayward snowflake and next to that is a handmade post card book. It's stunning I'm so jealous of your skills. Under that is the 3 page letter she sent explaining things about herself and salt lake. and strewn about are the very delicious and oft stolen Taffy's. I had my whole family taste and we all agree, definitely better than the ones from Atlantic City.

I got an awesome little magnetic construction worker guy.  He's got a little magnetic barrier and also a cone!  He's already found a spot on my pencil holder!   Lucy Van Pelt sent a sweet little angel bear, and also a bell x-mas  ornament.  They're already adding to the x-mas decor around the house!

She sent so much great stuff I don't think I got pictures of it all, because I scattered it all over and had to round it back up... oops.  I got a notepad from the University of Tampa, a seashell, a local newspaper and magazine, some cool stickers, an awesome cd of her boyfriend's band, yummy recipes that I can't wait to try, and the coolest foam hand which totally cracked me up (and my 11 month old daughter LOVES it)...

I know I am forgetting stuff since it's been a little while since I got it  Oh yeah there was bubbleyum gum too, needless to say, that's already gone...

Thank you so much Lucy Van Pelt for being the best swap angel ever... I felt all warm and tingly inside when I got your package!  Everything is so great!

Wow! Glad you liked everything. The Spider-Man foam hand served a twofold purpose: it made great padding for the package, and I thought your kids would enjoy it, too!

hondzik - you are fantastic!  i was so excited to get my package last night.  it was so great.  unfortunatly i haven't been able to figure out what i've done with my camera so i'm going to try to scan in what i can (is it just me or is this a frequent thing for craftsters?).

Burlap Tote - this will be awesome for carring around all my knitting gear.
Coasters - these are perfect for the pub we are creating in the basement.
