I LOVE the evil girl scout! You could threaten to roast people like marshmallows if they don't buy your cookies!
I did a really cute Velma a couple years ago...other ideas are rock star (ex Bono, Corey Hart, or generic rockstar), that old lady from the Old Navy ads, rockabilly girl, a saucy french kitty (or skunk...my ex bf was black and he was a hilarious skunk one year...with cateye glasses it could be sort of a female pepe le pew or that cat he was always chasing), beatnik, Dame Edna, evil business woman (I was "Corporate America one year with a suit and devil horns & tail), the billboard from the Great Gatsby (OK, that's a stretch), an evil optician, a mad scientist, Elton John....

Bastelmutti - thanks for the compliment and glad you like the idea.  Run with it!  It was a lot of fun and pretty easy.  Post pictures!  I'd love to see your version.

Thanks, I'll do that! I am trying to think of a companion costume for my husband. I'm thinking Satan's Gardener (bloody trowel, dead plants) or another member of Satan's "staff" - maybe Satan's butler/valet, Satan's driver, etc.

That'd be great!  When I went, we tried to get my boyfriend at the time a costume as Jesus' Personal Assistant but finding an all white suit two days before Halloween just doesn't happen.

A co-worker once told me his dream costume was to go as Satan's Little Helper, dressed as a demonic cowboy with big platform shoes carved into hooves.

Another Harry Potter costume idea is Professor Trelawny.  She's got big glasses that make her look like a bug and you could basically dress like a gypsy with tons of shawls and bangles and then frizz your hair out and carry around a glass ball or something like that all night long.  Go around prediciting really horrible deaths for everybody.  I think that'd be fun.
