Lithgow for all you people who have never heard of the place is in NSW on the western edge of the Blue Mountains about 2 1/2ish hours west of Sydney.

OK heres my intro....
My name is Michelle  Grin and I love all things BEADY!!!!!  Grin Cheesy Grin

I've been making jewelry and keyrings and the latest... beaded socks, and other assorted things to sell at the markets I go to at Mt Victoria (Home of the notourious Chemical Truck Accident! You can still smell the stuff  Undecided Sad Tongue ) I also make Bugz (check out misc. craft finished pros, look for Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugz)

I have also started to play with polymer clay, interesting stuff, stinky but interesting! Haven't done much of that yet though, still need to get a pasta machine.

If anybody knows any good craft stores I wanna know about them! I go to Penrith often and mainly go to Lincraft and Spotlight, theres 2 bead shops there 2 which are great!

My contribution of good places to go to is Ron Chudys Bead House and Casting at Alexandria, heeeeeeeeeeeeaps of pewter charms and fairies and things, findings, a few beads and just some beautiful stuff, also damn near impossible to get a parking spot!  Undecided

Anyway I'll quit rambling and let you get on with your craftiness!  Grin

Hi moobaa I know where Lithgow is...I have family in Lithgow and I used to live in Portland (a long time ago when I was a kid!)!!

Once upon a time there used to be the greatest little wool shop in Portland, but sadly it has now closed.

Thanks for the tips on good bead shops. If ever you're in Sydney the Bead shop at the Rocks is good (although a bit pricey) and so too is the one one Enmore Road...in Enmore! Actually they're the only 2 shops I know of for beads in town!

WOW, Beaded socks??! That's so cool.

Hi Moobaa,

I know where Lithgow is too - I live in Leura now but just under a year ago I was living in Lidsdale which (as you'd know) is just outside of Lithgow.

As for craft stores, well they are few and far between here on the Blue Mountains, but there is a neat one in Blackheath called Ribbons & Rainbows, have you been there? They specialise in sewing supplies but they do sell beads and other bits and bobs.

In Penrith I like that little bead place that is in one of the arcades off High Street...Polly's Beads, I think?

Oh! I just thought of a place in Katoomba that you'd love. Its an antique/junk shop down the bottom of Katoomba Street, next to the fish shop and on the same side as Viviannas Creations. They have a shelf in there that is *full* of baskets of old beads, lots of glass ones the last time I was in there. I think they had jewelry findings too.  Let me know if you don't know the one I mean and I'll try to figure out the name of the shop Smiley

Cheers,
Alysha.

I live there! hehe, fancy that.

Hey Moobaa (It's Bruces Daughter Wink )
You have pretty much listed all the shops I know to buy beads. Altho, GoLo sells 3 packets of beads for $2.20 Tongue
If you were looking for cheap beads that's the place to go

You'l have to post a pick of your Human Nature shirt! dad told me about how you put beads on it to spell their name, sounds cool.

HELLO FROM CHERRYBROOK! haha!
Well I know where Lithgow is, I lived in Katoomba, Medlow Bath and Blackheath for a few years, in the early 90's - my daughter was born in Katoomba hospital in fact.

Anyhoo, you say you go to Penrith, well I go to Penrith too, but for tattoos LOL and just down the street from Wicked Ink (headed towards the station and Spotlight) is a little Asian fabric store, and she has some awesome fabrics, I don't know about ebads, sorry Smiley, but in case you (Or any of the other girls in this thread for that matter) were interested in that, and didn't know about her. Good prices too.

See ya Grin

I once got my nose pierced at wicked ink  Grin  Kiss  Grin
There used to be really cool shop (called Magik i think) near where the Bead Company is now. They had awesome crystals and swords, but sadly they are gone  Sad would like to find another like it.
AUS NEEDS MORE BEADS!
