I go to a magnet school in Orange County so our school adheres to the dress code because they're afraid we'll wear something 'gang affliated'.

Mmmhmm...our colors are red, white, gray, and blue. We are to wear collared blouses of those colors. Our pants have to be khaki or navy blue. Red and white is a color fought over so I'm not entirely sure if it's allowed or not.

The corseted polo is getting a little old for me, does anyone have any ideas to alter or reconstruct a polo?

Hmm...what if you changed the collars?  I don't know how experienced of a sewer you are, but you could always take collars off of other shirts and sew them on.  That changes the look of a shirt pretty dramatically.  Or you could reconstruct two polos of different colors.  So for example, a gray shirt with a white collar and sleeves, and vice versa.  Or, even simpler, you could add on some cute lace around the collar/sleeves and change the buttons.  I've changed buttons on my sweaters before when I got tired of them, and it really makes a difference.
