Not sure if it's quite kosher to be posting these, since we aren't going to be married for another 3 months or so, but I just got my unretouched proofs from our wedding photo shoot and wanted to show a few of them off! They're the ultimate in cheesy, I know, but I'm allowing myself to be a little sappy for this whole wedding business.




Photos are really important to me, so I was pretty thrilled that I was able to drag my fiance all the way to Shanghai to get these taken

Wow, all the way to Shanghai?? Where do you live? Those pictures, including the one in the red dress, remind me a friend of mine's wedding pictures.
Those are prettttty; I like the first one a lot. I wanna take picture of me and my fiance before the wedding too but I don't want him to see me in my dress til I'm walking down the aisle, so I'm a little torn hah

thekster, we live in NC, so Shanghai is quite a long way--but as I was going to be here for an away clerkship this month anyway, I figured why not bring the future-DH along and let him see my "hometown". I also don't want my fiance to see me in my dress before the ceremony (one of the few superstitions I'm trying to abide by), but fortunately the photo place has a HUGE selection of white wedding gowns and evening gowns to choose from, so I just picked a few from their stock. (My actual wedding gown won't be nearly as frilly as the one in the pictures, but it was really fun to feel like a frothy cupcake for a bit

Yeah, I think I read about the clerkship in your other post. I really like your pics; is the photo place the same one that is taking your wedding pics? Or did you go there just for the before pictures? I'd really like to do that but we're just having my sister's photographer friend take ours.

thekster, thanks! It's not the same photo place--we're getting a photographer on-island for the wedding. (which will be a little closer than shanghai, fortunately! ) Maybe you could entice your sister's friend to do some before shots with some crafty goodies?

I bet she would if we asked but I'd have to use my real wedding dress and I don't want my fiance to see it before the wedding :/ But maybe I can find some place around here that'll do the before pics!

I figured that wedding season is upon us and I'd share my pictures from my wedding a couple of years ago.
It was really very beautiful and I had a lot of help from my grandmother who hosted it at her house. She is a beautiful
decorator and made it a very special day. I've got insomnia so this gave me something to do. On with pics!

Bow/flowers that were placed on the stairs I walked down. I've grown up in this house, playing on these stairs so it was a pretty big deal to me. There's actually a giant chandeliere that was in the queen's wedding. (I know that sounds nuts but it's true.) It's really beautiful but I have no pictures of it.


Stairs:


Ring pillow. This is an heirloom on my husband's side of the family. I think it was made of his grandmother's wedding dress, turned into a baby pillow, turned into a ring pillow for our wedding and our brother/sister-in law's wedding. It's really special.


Guest book table, this is a marble table she's had set up with pictures of all of us grand kids for a long time. It has lots of great memories on it.
