Hi everyone .. I've been off all the boards for a bit during this summer. My son turned 8 on August 13th and wanted a Harry Potter Birthday Party. So, being the HUGE Harry Potter freak that I am, I gladly obliged. Here are some pictures of all the items I made for him.

The Monster Book of Monsters is made from an old 3-ring binder type photo album.

Next are the wands made from printer paper, hot glue and paint. I found the link to the directions online ... I'll post that link once it starts working again.  Yay!! The link is working again: http://dadcando.com/

Then wizarding hats made from felt and robes made from graduation gowns. The lil one's robe is one of my old t-shirts:

And misc pictures of table decorations:

I also made the quills you see in one of the plastic cauldrons ... printed feathers, ball point pen inserts, glue and tape.

The book was easy. .. its a 3-ring binder with shaggy fake fur hot glued to it .. the teeth and tongue are felt. The eyes are the kind you use for stuffed animals .. with the post and lock washer .. just punched em thru the fur and pushed the lock washer on ... and then just hot glued it all together. My son loves it .. he draws all the time .. so this is the perfect thing to keep his drawings in. I'm going to take out the old photo pages  and get him some page protectors instead

I love this! I was going to do a Harry Potter birthday party for my eldest last year, and the somebody in the family get stomache flu that day. I love your ideas and if you don't mind I'm going to add them to the stash that I put away from last year. I gave the kids the wands and hats and they love playing with them. I also gave them the Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans in the red pouches that I had made (generic jelly bellies).

I don't mind at all .. most of the ideas I found online myself  Smiley I also packaged up regular jellie bellies and gummy frogs to give the kids in their goodie bags.
