Oooh....I want to make some...I'm thinking...lace-up Espadrilles with snakes for the straps. *has to find Espadrilles and snake stuff first*

I want some where the tails wrap up and around the leg!!  Those are hot Hot HOT!  I think cork would work for the heel.  I've seen wedges with cork for the heel before, and of course Birks and other similar sandals have cork.  But you'd need something for the bottom of the shoe too because the cork won't stand up to surface wear.  Wood would be good too.  Too bad you couldn't use some kind of clear plastic.
