Hi Julie,
I tracked down Brown Sheep yarn from all over the web to make Skully.  I started at
www.brownsheep.com  which lists  all
US retailers; many with website links.  A great website which I know carries Brown Sheep yarn in the Deep Charcoal color is Webs---www.webs.com.  I have never had a problem with them--very helpful and professional, especially with tracking down specific dye lots.  Good Luck!  Oh, and I agree w/you about another SnB pattern book---that would be terrific!

Cheers,
Julie

Thanks, I'll use the Brown Sheep site!  But I went to www.webs.com and it was some sort of Christian homepage?  Am I doing something wrong?

Hi gals, I'm back!

Thanks for the tip on the Brown Sheep yarn--I found it!  I also wanted to send out a heads-up on Internet yarn buying.  I was looking for the Trendsetter yarn for the Coney Island Fireworks Scarf and first found it for $11.00 a ball and almost bought it...  Good thing I didn't, because other sites had it for $6!  Make sure to compare prices--be savvy!

Here's a great yarns and knitting site that has trendsetter shadow for $6.00, though they don't have the exact color from SnB.  I like the colors they do have, so you could experiment!

I love this thread!  It has been so cool to see everyone's wonderful finished projects from this kick-ass book.  I'm posting one of my own, at long last.  I've made the felted marsupial tote, the umbilical cord baby hat, and the needle case.  Here are some pictures of the case, which I love:

I'm jonesin' to start the to-dye-for sweater and the kittyville hat.

Wow Gloriana, I adore your gerbera fabric-- where'd you find such gorgeous prints?  You did a fab job on that needle holder.  How did you other projects turn out?

The Skully was my first project as well.  Unfortunately I neglected to check my gauge.  Fortunately I used cheap yarn. Kiss It was a good thing to get my chops back, so to speak, but I definitely check my gauge now, because it's such a cute sweater and I can't wear it.  Instead of doing the skulls I did a heart on the sleeve.  I will most probably make it again because I love the sleeves and the pictures that everyone else is posting of their finished projects. I agree - a second book with more patterns would be great!  I want to make nearly everything in that book.  Right now I'm starting on the cardigan.  But instead of sport yarn I'm making it with two strands of mohair.  I think it's going to look nice.

Knit on.
