I absolutely love my "SnB" book. I've suggested to newbie and expert alike.

My first project from the book was the kittyville hat. Hubby wanted one that looks like a Siamese cat.

Then I made a red one (still need to put on my devil horns) for myself.

Also made a black one and then a beige one w/o ear flaps or ears. It's a lovely hat pattern!

Your backpack is the cutest sbub! I was just trying to decide which project to do next and I think you have inspired me to try this one!

That's a really pretty needle case! I love the use of the insect fabric.

I've been meaning to make one, but it's in the backlog of crafty projects.

I thought I was about done with the Scully sweater I'm making for my husband. I did one seam from the arm to the bottom and Oh No! the armholes are too small! So I have to take out the seam and make an insert.

Any suggestions? Huh I'm thinking something diamond shaped.

I finished the right front, but for the left front, you need to pick up stitches by knitting into the purled stitched of the right front. Huh? Do I pick up stitches going straight across or do I go diagonally?

That part of the sweater is a bit confusing, but it does make sense in the end. Yes, you are going to pick up stitches from the right front. You will go directly across from where you are on the left side. Just straight...don't go diagonal. It seems a little awkward at first, but basically you are just connecting the two sides together. It's kind of hard to explain, but just go directly across from where you are now, and try to keep it in a straight line...if you get crooked at all, your neck line will look all messed up.

If you have any other questions or if I wasn't clear  Shocked, let me know...it was a hard sweater to make!

I haven't seen any posts yet about the "Big Bad Baby Blanket."  Just starting knitting for the first time since I learned to knit as a teenager.  I'm a little rusty but the project is going pretty well.  I have one little problem that  I'm sure someone could help with.  If you're familiar with the pattern, you do the first 20 rows (the border) in seed stitch.  Then the main body of the balnket is just knit/perl blocks with a seed stitch border.  Here's my problem.  I just finished the first 20 rows and did the first row that alternates between the k block and the p block with the seed stitch border.  Once I finished my perl block and moved on to the border I found my border row was alternating with the seed stitch row below it.  Does that make sense?  So the border on the left side has 2 rows of knit and perl stitches.  Maybe I counted the bottom rows for the border wrong?  It didn't look like I was having the same problem on the other side of the blanket at the beginning of my 21 row.

Has anyone made the Little Black Top? My sister wants me to make one for her and I just want to know if I should be warned about anything before I start. I'm an advanced beginner, I'd say.

I haven't started this project yet but the yarn is bought and it's next on my list.  Just a thought: Is it possible that you have picked up stitches along the way?  I see that the project is worked holding two strands of yarn together-- this always makes me worry about mysteriously multiplying stitches!
Please post if you encounter other problems.  I like to know what I might be in for myself!
