I love this project, because it's so easy and it uses the rod side of a toggle clasp (my favorite clasp) and with the holidays just around the corner, now is the time to start making gifts for the guy in your life.  Anyone can create customized cuff links for weddings, holiday celebrations or any special occassion.  I'm a huge fan of the blue pair, but any long bead can be used.

In fact this project was just featured on Beads, Baubles and Jewels - a PBS show on jewelry making - I didn't see it, but you can get a PDF of the instructions here:
www.beadsbaublesand jewels.com/projects/204/204-1.pdf

You need Adobe Acrobat to see it, but it's easily downloaded at www.adobe.com

I can't wait to see what people create!

wow, what an excellent idea!! I don't know alot of men who wear suits everyday, so I'm not sure I know anyone I could make them for.  But I am doing a few Christmas craft fairs, so thats something to think about! Thanks!!

I really like those. I don't know many people who really wear suits on a regular basis but this something I will keep in mind. Maybe a gift for dad down the road. AWESOME!

how heavy can cufflinks be and still work okay? would glass marbles be too heavy?

EDIT to add - maybe i should be clearer - i bought some cufflinks from a bead store, where you can just glue something onto the flat front. i want to glue something on, and i was thinking the glass marbles used for marble magnets would be good.

but i don't know anyone who wears cufflinks, so i've no clue if that would be too heavy. i thought you might know!
