I'll preface by saying that I work at a health food store, where tons of people bring their own bags. I'm forever seeing these mesh bags and thinking "Gee, I could make that..." So I finally got down to it and figured it out.

There's a big size and a smaller one, and I've got the patterns along with some charts and a diagrams up on my blog if anyone's interested. It's crazy how much crap I was able to shove into these... I got the big one so heavy I could barely lift it. Smiley

Those are much nicer than the ones I see around. When I have time, I'll definitely have a look at your patterns. I can't wait to get rid of the overflowing plastic bag monster under my sink.

Yes I look like a little old bag lady. Grin  I stuff them all in the biggest one.   I have an insulated one for frozen stuff too.  I am a vegetarian so I don't have the meat dilemma. But you are right about the separation.

I wonder if u could cut up plastic shopping bags into strips and crochet a mesh shopping bag with it. That would recylce the bags at the same time.
