I'll be moving to Corpus Christi in a week or so and am curious to know if there are any crafting groups or just individuals in the area.  I don't know anyone there at all, yet.  ^^;

There's a chapter of the American Sewing Guild, a doll making group and at least two quilting groups.

I only ever participated with the ASG chapter, the other groups were a bit to insular to allow me in (I'm not in my 50's, retired or a stay at home Mom.)  Some of the individuals are nice enough, it's the groups that made me very uncomfortable.

and I'm moving away this month.. (wry smile)

It's incredible to learn about so many things all at once!  The real irony is that now that I'm moving to Corpus, I keep seeing posts in all my haunts asking about Beaumont, which I'll be leaving shortly!  O.o

is ironic.

If you work days most of the meeting I know of will be flat out impossible.  The groups mostly meet mid morning and early afternoons and during the week, very few on the weekends where a working person can attend.

Aw man. I just moved OUT of CC.

I dunno, all the craft shows there failed. It's mostly old ladies running everything crafty. Sometimes people are selling things at the college but it's reallllllllly rare. Sad

We've got to work on our timing. O.o

A we were traveling through Houston, there was an art fair going on in one part of town, a culture fest in another, and ads for another festival of some sort going on pretty soon in the future.  Where are we when they plan these things?

It'd be kind of fun for some young, rebel crafters to get a table at one of those old-lady craft fairs and shake up the scene!
