Hi, I just started making the samisen playing geisha from http://www.dafont.com/en/font.php?file=geisha and was wondering if anyone wants to join me by making anything Geisha and/or Japanese themed. I'm on a big traditional Japan kick cause I just finished reading Memoirs of a Geisha.  Grin

Will you be doing these in black and white, or adding color?  Oh, and what sort of stitches?

I'd love to join in on this one, but I have to finish a major cross-stitch project for a friend's wedding first.  I'll check back on this thread when I'm done though! Smiley

I'm doing it in colors, mainly jewel tones. So far I've finished the leaves and most of the clouds on her kimono. It's pretty much any stitch. . .  I just sorta need someone pushing me along to finish, because it's making me go blind (This is only my 5th project, and the most detailed one yet) Tongue

Hehe. First of all, that is very very pretty. Second, that book rocked! There's a movie coming out, i'm excited because i don't think you canr eally mess this book up. YEY! Third, I'd love to do this. I ahve an oriental type of dress I've been sititng on for a while ahve having people pushing me to do it would probably help me. I'm in!

Wow these look great. I started a Japanese Maiden a little over a year ago but stopped cross stitching when it got closer to my wedding since I had to work on wedding stuff. Then I lost it in the move and I finally found it again (yay!) I can't wait to start stitching again. This is the one that I'm doing http://www.abullrun.com/abu1066.html . It's the Japanese Maiden. I will post pictures for you to see how far along I've come with it. Hopefully I will pick it up again soon and finally finish it.

These are all beautiful patterns, but so big and time consuming! I need a little quick one to fit in inbetween other things! Any ideas?

I'm also working on a Geisha right now.  Right now I'm working on http://www.cross-stitch-centre.co.uk/acatalog/petites.html It's Geisha Beauty, the one at the top.  I'm working on the orange in the umbrella, but I've take n a small break because it's all starting to look the same.  I'll post the final result when I finish, say around the next millenium.
