Yesterday was my youngest sisters' 30th birthday.  As part of her gift I made her this bracelet.  It's knit with 34 gauge silver wire on 3.5 mm bamboo needles.  The beads are glass.  I made a similar one for the knitting Craft Challenge, but I like this one a lot more!

:O  That is awesome.  When do you put the beads on?

Thanks!  The beads go on while you knit.  You string the beads on the wire before you start knitting, and then as you knit each stitch you pull a bead up, and knit after it.  Hope that makes sense.  There's a pattern here - http://www.spunmag.com/article/050605bracelet

That is beautiful.  I love knitted wire jewellery, it makes me wish I could knit.  The colours are fabulous and just perfect for autumn  =)

This is so pretty. I keep trying to knit wire, and then remembering why I stopped (cause it's painful and HARD and so time consuming). I really admire you!

Great work!  As you knit, does the wire cut into the bamboo needles?  Is casting on very hard?

Ohhhhhh I LOVE Your bracelettttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked
I kinda understood what you explained about the beads, just a minor (and probably silly...) question now:
Do you make crochet with wire just like you make with yarn or some kind of knitting "line"?

(sorry for the bad english on naming specific things... I'm portuguese so.. Hoping you can understand anyway..!  Wink )

Thank you for your kind comments!

GIJane - I don't know how to crochet ... only knitting.  But I think that it would be the same.  It's a little more difficult because the wire is much stiffer than yarn..

SpielMitMir - Knitting or crocheting with wire is pretty much the same as with yarn.  Just slower.  I got the pattern in an e-mail, and thought that it was pretty. So I tried it!

706Designs - I didn't find casting on that difficult ... just slow!  The wire didn't really cut into the bamboo, though it has scratched it up a little bit.  I bought cheap bamboo needles from Michaels just for the wire knitting.
