I bought a bunch of the reall soft, light brown colour to use as fringe on a blanket. I'll have some extra, and was thinking of making something for my husband. No idea what, though; he doesn't wear scarves, hats, gloves, or sweaters.

Hmmm.  I know it's been done countless of times...but how about an ipod cozy?  There are quite a few knitted ipod cozy projects listed in this forum.  Here's one that I thought was simply divine:

That would be a great idea, but unfortunately... we already tried getting an iPod for Christmas, and it broke when it fell on a hard tile floor a few months later. We haven't gotten a new one, or thought about it, yet. I'll see if there's anything else electronic I can make a cozy for, it's a good idea.

I bought 4 skeins of the beige boucle.
I also got 4 pairs of bamboo needles- but has anyone else noticed that they are really rough and snag on the yarn?  Undecided

I didn't get any bamboo needles but I couldn't resist buying a pair of aluminum ones  Tongue  From what I've read, some folks have been sanding the bamboo needles with fine grit sandpaper and smoothing the sanded surface with wax paper.  Perhaps you could try that?

I was planning on getting sandpaper- the wax paper is a good idea, too!
Thanks

Okay, I finished my modified minisweater using the tan boucle yarn from Target. I used about 3 1/2 skeins, even with making it slightly longer (to cover my below-bra waist pudge, you know what I'm talking about).  Roll Eyes

I have to say, I'm very happy with the end product. Took me CSI, Law & Order SVU, and Colts v. Browns to knit. It is very soft and cuddly.

As soon as I find that little cable thingy that connects the camera to the computer, I will post pix in the finished projects forum.

This is too weird.  I picked up more boucle yarn at Target, but I didn't have a clue as to what to do with it.  Now, I have to figure out how to make this scarf!

The minisweater sounds cool.  I would love to see a picture of it!

I've started a pair of socks with the fiery orange mohair stuff paired with this nice similarly colored cotton. So far I'm happy Smiley

The socks are coming out sooooo soft with the mohair stuff! If you're not sure what to do with it, do that! Oh, and they're more like slippers now. I realized in the middle I didn't have enough yarn for socks. I had enough yarn for "sock."
