How did you put in the lining?

After several "science experiments" with all types of glue, I came to the sad conclusion that no glue would hold on the shiny tape surface. I ended up using "Oh So Sticky" double-sided tape. (The kind that is made for microbeads.) I have been carrying the bag around for about a week, and it still seems very secure. The handles are sewn to the lining, so the tape only has to hold the woven "shell" on. The lining is what's taking all the weight.

If you need to know where to get the tape, I got mine from at www.pennywisearts.c om. One roll is more than enough.

Awesome bag. Thanks for the info about the lining. And the link for the tape. I am definitely going to have to ry it. Do you think newspaper would be to flimsy to try and do this with?

I think newspaper would look pretty cool. It will probably yellow with age, but if you don't mind that, give it a try. Just make sure you fold a couple of layers for each strip so they have a little more weight to them, and wrap each strip individually with the packing tape. If you make one, be sure to post it. I would love to see it!

Ok, so I was making my bag, and I tried it a different way, and made a sheet for each side. (4 sides and the bottom) and i have it all together and it looks nice and everything, but my problem is that the corners and edges are really choppy because the magazine, and so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to cover up this choppy-ness? I don't have any thick ribbon or anything, and so I have no idea what to do! Thanks to everyone if they can help!

I'm not sure if I understand exactly what you mean by "choppy", but would just a strip of clear packing tape on the edges smooth things out? Or if you are trying to hide some flaws, what about some pretty colored duct tape?
