Lined woven magazine handbag

I think you did an awsome job and I have a question. After weaving the pages how do you attach it to the fabric?

I made the complete fabric lining, with handles attached, then attached it to the "shell" of the purse with some Oh So Sticky tape. I tried lots of different glues, but none of them would stick. I carry this bag everywhere, and so far, that tape has held.

I was at Michaels today and saw some other brand of really sticky tape (sorry I don't remember its brand name). It was located in the scrapbook section.

just an idea.
but yea, i love you. to death.
it appears to be very simple, but the different colors make it all 'wow'.
how long did this take you to create?
how many magazine pages did you fold to make one strip stable enough?

To answer your question, chocolattecake22, it probably took me 4-5 hours to make the purse. Each strip is only one magazine page, folded 3 times the long way. The packing tape on each strip makes it quite sturdy. I am currently making these for my family for Christmas, so I hope I can cut down some on that production time!

That looks FANTASTIC!  I love the colors.  Beautiful job.  Looks real sturdy, which is always a quality we want in a bag that lugs our shit!

How did you weave yours?I have mine like [url http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/andaparadox/purse.jpg]this[/url]</a> so it can just be folded but i cant figure out how to get the sides on.The only thing I can think is to weave them seperately and then tape them to the base I have going but I don`t think that would look right or be very strong.

I just wanted to post and say thank you for such a great idea!!

I tried it myself today in a reduced size. This pencil case is what came out of it. I lined it too. I sewed the lining and the magazine weave in the machine--but I don't recommend it. I broke the needle twice! Here are the pictures....Thanks again!
