You're so funny. I am making one now for my sister, and trying to decide if my sister in law would like it or just think I'm cheap.

Tough call.

If you question the cheap thing, you shouldn't make her one.  I on the otherhand don't care that you're cheap.

Yer a doll, gingerquilts! Perhaps if I ever pull myself away from this site, I will have time to make you one.

That's really really nice.  I don't usually go for magazine-type of things, but this post has inspired me to make one of my own!

One question, though: after weaving the strips together into a sheet, did you cover it with more tape?

No, I didn't recover the woven parts with tape, except on the two sides, which had to be joined together. I did run a band of tape around the top open part on the inside of the bag to give it just a little more stability, though.

Post yours if you make one, and let me know if you come up with a different way of making it. I'm still trying to perfect it!

I wove the magizine like you said, BUT I can't figure out how you put it all together to make the purse!  I'm so not crafty, but I'm trying to learn.  This looked like a simple craft that turned out beautiful & I have loads of magazines.

You did a great job!

I'm pretty happy with my new purse, and I think I know now what all my female relatives are getting for Christmas!

Can I be one of your female relatives?    Grin

My only brother is married, but perhaps you can talk to my parents about adoption...

Wow, I'm really impressed! It's beautiful! I bet calandar pages would work great too. Heavy paper, larger size...hmmm. Looks like I'll be getting side-tracked with a new project!
