LeSophie, your son is the coolest. Ever. EVER.

I am in love with him. I swear. Is he, by any chance, 13 now?

thanks magdalen.  she had NO faith in me, but i had this vision.  i made her stand there and i took aluminum foil and made a form on her head with the foil so that it fit her head exactly...balled it up and just kept building it up until it was the right shape and size an at the right angle.  then i paper mached it, let it dry overnight, then another layer the next day.  then i used spray adhesive and glued the big cotton balls from the grocery store all over it and then sprayed it with blue fast-dry spray paint.  super easy and she LOVED it!

made her dress too, that was a WHOLE nutha oprah.  i've never sewn anything with a zipper, let alone anything that anyone was going to wear.  by the grace of god it ended up working out.  Smiley

the necklace, we just bought some wooden beads and painted them with crafter's wood paint.  whole costume cost under 20 bucks.  i high-fived myself for awhile.

thanks smarmy.  it took very little time and other than paint and starch (we had a newspaper and foil) it was VERY cheap.  i'd like to take this opportunity to thank my mom for her crazy creativity and my high school yearbook teacher for the paper mache lessons.  Wink

This year my husband abandoned his usual offensive costumes (priest, maxi pad, monster, etc)  You can see those on page 4 of this thread.  We decided to go as Willy Wonka and Violet

I made Willy's hat, bow tie, and jacket.  Here's my husband as old-school Willy.

This is me as Violet and a fellow teacher as Willy.  Our students loved it!

I was Violet as a blueberry.  I bought a blow up ballerina costume on clearance last year.  I spray painted it blue along with my hair and face. Sitting down was quite funny.

ENJOY!
