This was my first solo sewing project and i am pretty happy with it. I laid out the pattern in the other direction so i could get the design of the fabric all on the bag.

I also did the handles different since I hate turning handles inside out and the thought of making 2 handles was too much work! The pockets are half assed because it was the last thing i did and by then was sick of working on the project.

Thanks to the original poster for the tute!

Thanks or the tutorial. I made a few for Christmas presents and as each one was made it got easier each time. I adapted the size and straps tho. I'd lve to post pics but this is the 2nd time I've posted and it wont let me put them in the message, but my bag and detail can be found here:

Hey this inspired me to get moving and use up that left over fabric! I had some black cotton witha  grey leaf motif and some bright purple for the lining. With a little interfacing its looking promising. I have added a drink bottle holder for the end and made it a little larger for my folder. All the pieces are cut but my machine foot pedal is screwed so I need a new one before I can get sewing! So frustrating Angry! All these pretty pieces and nowhere to sew!

Ill get some pics up when i can

Hi All,
Cant post pics so here are some links:

I used interfacing as usggested whihc was great. I sewed phone pocket, pen holders and other pretty little things to soothe my pocked junky urges.

Anyway thanks for the idea!

Thanks for the tutorial!

I'm a little confused by the use of interfacing.  Am I right in thinking that at no point do you fuse the outer fabric and the lining together using the interfacing and a hot iron?  I had thought that 'inter'facing was made to go inbetween two pieces of fabric.  The only ironing stuff I know of is Bondawed, which is designed to be ironed and to fuse two pieces of fabric together.

It seems that in your tutorial you have a piece of interfacing for each separate piece that you cut out originally.  Am I right?

Thanks!
