few things i finished over the past couple days. the first is a really basic tote bag with a front slip pocket and no inner pockets. i needed something for road trips to carry books, notebooks, magazines, etc. didn't really have a need for inner pockets.

the 2nd pic is a set for my friend Nicole who was in the Marines and she wanted to donate her old MARPAT uniforms to me for my sewing. I donate x amount of every order to a veterans organization. I told her I'd make her a set with them so she'd always be able to have a reminder of her time in the Corps.

you so rarely see anything military and girly, esp. anything for the military girls, not military wives. I love what you're doing! It looks great.

I am in love with the little pouches! I agree that you hardly ever see anything cut for the girls actually in the military.

My husband is a civilian with a beard and I'm in the Navy, yet we still always have people ask if he is the on that is active duty. ::eye roll::

I would be seriously stoked with a gift like that and hope that your friend really enjoys them!

I love the little pouches! Those would make great personal hygiene bags to take to the shower at the gym or on deployment!

My husband and I are the same except for I'm in the Army, he did his time and then got out to be the civilian. I love how everyone always talks to him and ignores me until it comes time for the active duty person to sign papers, etc!

thank you all! Smiley

the little patch pouches came from me being a bit OCD about getting rid of any remotely usable scrap pieces. sewed em' up, and that's what i came up with:)

i agree with the cute stuff in the military thing. i mean yeah, clothing sales has the typical tshirts and whatnot or the hats or pins but nothing as far as accessories go.

i know that these aren't NEAR as meticulously amazing as some of the things I've seen on this site, but I sew because I love it and i'm sooooo glad i found this website because it's given me a lot of hints and tips to use:)
