I *ALWAYS* sing aloud to myself & improvise 'n all, and forget! It's SO annoying; I made up this little guitar tune on one string (the only tuned string, LOL) but promptly forgot it. My music teacher said something once about going around with a dictaphone; I should really do that......Cheap one would be fine.

I actually really hate songs about love and being all lonesome and unloved (hmm, but I love the blues and jazz...) so the first proper song I wrote (did the tune, mooosic,  chorus, instrumental - with help from others, of course) was about rain. Because I REALLY hate it. I really do. But there's so much going on with rain. Yep. /arty drool.

OMG, I HATE listening to myself singing! It's excrutiating. I don't know how actresses, singers, etc can bear it! I think that everyone I know is just really, really polite, because they say I am OK at it. Pshawww!! I can sing Gulf Coast Blues OK, but that's about it. I HATE the sound of my voice!

I hate the rain. Well, light, summer rain is OK, but otherwise, no. I am actually physically affected by it: I get really, really depressed when it rains.

I hate emo death stuff, so pointless.

At one point I wrote loooooooooooooads of poetry, but that was just about a load of issues I had/have. Now I don't have an actual NEED to write poems, so I don't do it; the stuff that I DO write is crap.

Love songs just annoy me though, because it's like, YES! We've heard ALL ABOUT him leaving you, hurting you, loving you, how it's so good to be with him, etc etc from the FIFTY BAZILLION OTHER SINGERS ABOUT IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahaha, i like your philosphys.
have you ever heard of Joel Plaskett Emergency Band? (if you haven't, click here: www.joelplaskett.com) The guitarist of our band likes stuff like that, and the bassist likes stuff like Blink182. I'm more into punk, but I also like Joel. So...any suggestions on how to combine all of this?!I'm not soo good at writing protest songs, political songs, or just f you songs lol, that some punk-music-liisteners enjoy. sooo any help?

much love

Meep.

self-proclaimed hippy-like weird jazz-loving girl shrinks away.

I know too many people who like emo/indie/rock/punkrock/moany stuff.

But anyway, if you ever need a hand writing songs, give me a buzz......

Sometimes when writing lyrics it can help to come up with them with another person, like another band member.
You basically take it in turns to think of a line (and you can both have input at any stage) and basically just brainstorm. The other person's ideas will set off some of your own and vice versa.
