Alright this is my first post! I am at my wit's end trying to find a cool intermediate pattern to make for my best friend's wedding present.  It is next year so I have plenty of time. Was wondering if anyone had an awesome pattern for a knitted throw.

I have been knitting for the past several months and am TOTALLY obsessed. If I dont knit everyday I am a cranky girl!

So if any one has a suggestion for a great throw please let me know.  Hey I am a poet and didnt know it.  Any body want a peanut? Grin

Well, there's a fairly simple throw/afghan pattern in Melanie Falick's Weekend Knitting. I like it because it uses K2 across sections with a contrasting yarn to gather the rug in in sections. This may not make sense unless you actually see a photo! Anyway, it has instructions for a lap rug size, and a large rug.

Cool! Thanks I will have to look up that pattern.  Meanwhile I am actually making another blanket for myself. It is the first thing I have ever made just for me. It is so close to completion and I am so excited!  I tried to figure out how to post some pics of it but it is kind of confusing. Any suggestions?

I'm knitting this for my sons speech therapist wedding gift:
