I've been making these for a while, the dark ones - started out as a placemat. When I went looking for more of the placemats, I discovered that they came in other colors, and that the placemats were featured on an HGTV craft show, and that the $2 placemats were being sold on ebay for $15! After more searching, I found more for way less, and so now I'm making them in three shades - I'll probably sand and paint some too.

This is what they start out looking like:



They're strung together with nylon fishing line and strips of plastic. I cut them apart, polish them up a little, and put them together with 16g sterling wire.
