I got some really thin 34 gauge wire to play around with, threaded some seed beads on, started crocheting and came up with these:

What do you think?  The beads are clear irridescent, but it's hard to see the pearliness in the picture/scan  (my digital camera refuses to take clear close-ups of anything, but the scanner works really well for these little things).

I guess they do look sort of like snowflakes; I never really thought about it.  Maybe I'll have to try to make them look a little more snowflake-y, with some points and I'll have some easy Christmas gifts . . .
