block for "quilts for katrina" flickr project

Quilts for Katrina at Flickr
i just got invited to this group today. it's similar to the tsunami quilt project, where you can make a block, or blocks, and send in to the organizer who will then sew 'em all up and auction off the end product(s) to benefit the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina fund. i promptly signed up, after making a cash donation to the canadian red cross and feeling like it wasn't enough. go check out the group!

here's my first block, i have a second underway. (it's really a 10.25"x10.25" square but with a broken camera i had to improvise and use my limited scanner instead...)

Wow!  Those blocks are great foufigirl!  I love the simple messages... "life" and "hope" - whoever gets the final product will cherish those messages.  I also liked that you added the hearts - it makes it look like your heart is with them! (And I bet they'll appreciate knowing somebody cares!)  If I ever learn to quilt, I'd love to have some of the talent that you do!  Great job!
