Do you find that if you use CSS effects, like a link effect or a scrollbar to match the site layout, then sales are more successful?

my site really sux as far as layout goes but i sell a lot of items. it really just depends though. sometimes, it dis help but the thing that will helps sell your items the most is the items themselves. But yes, colorful and cute layouts do atract people to browse.
