i have the book "viva poncho" and there is a pattern for a one piece wrap around in this stitch - lovely....  i tried to make the poncho using the books instructions and it came out terrible (not the books fault - i'm just a newbie knitter), but with all the advice here i'm gonna give it the ol' college try again.

Is this knit fairly loosely or more tightly? I'm thinking about knitting a panta, but I tend to knit rather too loose for the pattern I'm following.

Maybe use smaller size needles to make up for the being loose.  I'm not sure how I knit but I guess it knits regular.

I love all of the patterns on that website, but can't read a darn thing!  They are beautiful - thanks for posting it.

If you click on the small red/white flag, it will pop up in Danish. Here is an English/Danish knitting dictionary. Smiley The text on the right is Danish, and the text on the left is English. Some of the patterns don't show up in Danish, though, but here is another dictionary, going from Norwegian to Danish. So if you click the blue/red/white flag under the patterns, it will come up in Norwegian, and you can find the Norwegian term and translate it to Danish, and then to English. Wink It might be a lot of work, but I think many of these patterns are worth it!

Oh, I found this as well. It's a knitting dictionary in English, Norwegian, Spanish, French, Danish, Swedish, etc.
And here is a site with all sorts of useful translation stuff. Smiley

They have patterns in English (and even in Dutch, my language).
You can choose your language on the first page: http://www.garnstudio.com/index_lang.php

I love panta so much.  I say panta during the day, several times.

I will post my panta picture when I am finished (not finnish, finished).

Panta!

This looks really cute! Did you just cast on a certain amount then do ribbing for the whole thing? Does it tie in the back?

I've been meaning to make one of these for some time and finally got around to it!

and another one that shows the stripes on the other side:

I'm really excited about it because I bought this handspun/dyed yarn at a craft show and finally found a good use for it.   Grin  I followed the pattern on page 4 pretty much exactly and I love the way it turned out.  I might have to try some more in different colors and yarns.
