have you put a cold pack on it?  That sometimes helps.

I don't think putting pressure on it will help though, not with it just being pierced. (that would HURT)

did you take any asprin or drink any caffene/alcohol before or after you went?  this will thin out your blood and you may not clot as fast.  i would suggest calling the piercing shop if it doesn't stop soon though, then if it continues to bleed, call a doctor just to be safe. (especially if you start to feel light headed)  if its just a little blood, your probably fine though.  it's normal to bleed after getting pierced.  i would also sugest drinking some water and take a multi vitamin or at least zink and vitamin e. These will help with the healing process anyways.

when i got my first piercing, i freaked when i saw all of the blood. for some reason i just didn't think about the blood factor.   Hang in there, your probably fine.

oh ok, good. the subject had me confused.

your nose is one of the worst diy piercings, you can mess up your sinuses.

trust me.

thanks everyone. i think i overreacted just a little. it's a little bloody still, especially if i try to blow my nose, since i keep sneezing, i guess it's the foreign object in my nose. i know it sounds gross but no big deal to those of us with peircings of any kind. we know how gross they get.

it was dripping blood at first but now, a couple hours later, it's much better and not as sore. you'd think i'd never had a peircing or tattoo or anything, which isn't true. it's just easy to forget what it was like. and i think i overreact about the nose because it's on my face and very visible. but i took two tylenols and relaxed and am much calmer now.

you guys are great for all your quick help though. it's nice to get some feedback from people who know what it feels like. any comments or suggestions are still welcome. nose peircings are so popular i'm sure most crafters have stories to share.

now that i've re-read my subject line, i guess i should have titled it "i got my nose pierced" and not "i pierced my nose"!

day two of my pierced nose and it's not bleeding anymore. it's actually looking and feeling great. i'm just hoping it doesn't go through a crusty stage as the rest of my piercings have, no matter how well i've cleaned them. anyone have pointers for avoiding this? does anyone know what i'm talking about?

and thanks again for all your help/concern!
