Just something I was thinking about.  The theory is pretty simple, but in practise would it just be too fiddly to do?  Has anyone tried it?

(I'll post up a three-colour pattern at some point, if I end up making one)

There's a book (Shadow Knitting? I think it's something like that) that has projects in it with more than just two colors. How would you be using the third color, in theory?

I never even thought about doing this before, but now it really sounds like a cool idea.

Just like two-colour illusion knitting, only you add a third row after each two with the other bits in the pattern.  If you see what I mean...

No, I totally see what you mean with the third color. I meant like what in the design would you use the third color for? (I can't figure how to phrase this correctly so you'll know what I mean, dammit!) Like, do you have anything specific in mind that you would do with this and how within the pattern would you use the third color?
