i've been around for a few weeks, so i guess i'll finally post a few things i have made.!

i had this plain tote bag and pat benatar is one of my favorites, so i just had to immortalize her. this was my first multilayered attempt, and the canvas was kind of rough so there was some bleeding, but overall i am pretty pleased! i ended up hand painting a lot of the face for fear that i would screw it up with the stencil..

i later added a magnetic clasp, so i added some buttons to cover up its ugliness (the big yellow button in the middle is covering the metal clasp).

i think i liked it better without the buttons, but oh well - too late now!!

comments and constructive criticism are welcome!

Oh my goodness I adore that! That picture of her really would have come in handy a few months ago. I made my friend a Pat Benatar shirt for her birthday!

So cool and so 80's!

I was gonna go see Pat Benetar a few weeks ago but my b/f had to work till 6 and the show started @ 7. He says we could have made it but, oh well. I'm still sad that I didn't get to see her!  Cry

omg, I love it, your bag is soo cute.  I love how you made it so retro 80's looking too.  I've been wanting to sentcil something with pat benatar for awhile but never got a round to it, now i'm totally pumped to make one.  Your bag came out soo great,  I doubt my stencil would come out as sweet, with my cutting abilities.

Thanks! I love the whole cheesy 80s retro look, I'm so excited to finally have an every day item in that style. If you happen to make something similar, I'd love to see pics!

Thank you! I'm afraid I have a bit of a button obsession. Undecided

That is really awesome. Pat Benatar was one of my mom's favorites while I was growing up, so she is one of my favorites, too Wink. Great job.
