After reading this thread, I hate to go check out the dollar bins while waiting for my prescription at Chicago's Target on Elston Ave. I got two balls of the multicolored fur yarn -- thought it'd make sweet baby booties if I held together with another yarn. I stayed away from the needles, though, after everything ya'll said. They looked kinda cheap, and I love aluminums, for some reason! Of course, as the crocheter I met in the yarn aisle said, who can complain for $1??

YES!!  My Target (Taunton, MA) finally got some of it in!  They had the furry stuff and the confetti.  They also had the needles--pretty crummy as most of you have said--and 2 pattern books.

I bought 3 of each of 4 different furs (they were so soft, I couldn't resist!) and 3 of one of the confettis.  My question now is....what do I make with them??  Haha.  Probably should have known that ahead of time, but any suggestions?  What are you guys using them for?

When I brought home my orange fun fur, my cats immediately stole it and ran around the house with it; so, I'm making a cat toy.  I'll post when I'm finished  Grin

The Elston Target has the stuff now?  Thanks for the heads up.  They didn't last time I was there but that was a few weeks ago.

Man, i bought 33 bucks in dollar yarn.  Haha!  And i got the orange and red fun fur and had the kitties drag it all over my apartment too!  Back and forth from bedroom to kitchen until it was all unraveled!  But that is being knit up on tiiiny needles for a glass bag for a friend.  Rule!

Christmas will most likely eat up most of this new stash though Smiley

Yay yarn!

With the confetti yarn that I bought, I'm planning on making a long, thin scarf for my mom. Not for warmth purposes of course, but something open and airy, just for looks. She's been wanting one of these for a whlie and her birthday just happens to be coming up.

The store in Wilmington, Delaware officially has them. I bought $35 in Target yarn and bamboo needles today. They don't yet have aluminum needles or kits, apparently, but I may go back tomorrow and take another look. Just to be sure, of course. There were SOOO many people in that aisle today.

I got some really pretty yarns, the fun fur and confetti in two or three colors and can't wait to try them. The confetti is kind of thin, and I'm definitely going to pair it with something else. I got three pairs of the purple needles in 4, 5, and 13, and a pair of 11's in the yellow (long) needles. I sanded them down with very fine sandpaper and polished over them with wax paper. They're downright silky now. Hope they work out well. Yay, Target!

Ack. The last thing I need is more yarn. But I went to target yesterday after seeing this thread and spent 40 bucks on yarn. Knitted Christmas gifts here I come.

I've been practice knitting with my fringe yarn using size 4 needles and it comes out looking almost like fake fur.  It would probably make good stuffed animals; nice and soft.

Ahh, nice. Is that the gold that's really thin with the little tufts of fuzz? I want to use it to make a dressy scarf for my boyfriends mom, but I was afraid it would knit up really open, even with little needles. That looks great though. It looks dense enough for a scarf.
