Hi everyone,

I'm new here, roaming around these boards and looking to start a small online business. I'm entirely new to the small business scene so perhaps you could give me some suggestions and tips to start. Hopefully this is enough of a craft to be posting here. I was planning to sell a japanese plant called marimo, sold in glass jars, essentially a green ball of algae which I know may sound odd but it is considered a national treasure in japan. minimal care, change the water, look at it. Its a really awesome plant, and pretty small. there are lots in japan but not yet to hit the american scene yet.

Thanks everyone

ok, so you're in american or japan? My suggestion would be to go to your local small business administration if you want a brick & mortar location....or start a website! do you have any photos of the plant you are  inteding to sell? sounds interesting.....

Im in america, but got the idea because my sister is an english schoolteacher in japan. i forgot to say I wanted to start a website, because that would work best with my schedule.

those are cool...you'd have to really get your name out there since people out in these parts have no idea what those are.

so, buy a domain name, get a hosting service, set up a shopping cart take some pics and get goin'! good luck
