Here's my October project!

I was the Halloween fairy (the 70's tennis player is my litle brother).  I already had the dress, and everything else only added up to $41!  I'm especially proud of the wand, which is covered with googly eyes Smiley  I made my necklace from a dollar store pin (a purple spider on a spiderweb) and my armwarmers from $3 Goodwill gloves (cut off the hands, hemmed, and added purple bows).  This was my favorite halloween costume I've ever had!

Oooooh Mayor McCheese! That's crazy, but fabulous. Great execution!

I gave up after a full week or classes and rehearsals and wore all black, stiletto boots, and lots of black eyeliner. Add a little powdered sugar on the nose, and a Kate Moss (a la "Cocaine Kate") costume is born! I don't think we took any pictures, though.

Hey, this is my first pic. post for this thread - still haven't gotten around to September yet though.

Since I have a night class on tomorrow, I didn't want to go in full costume, but I still had to do something, so I revamped a rarely worn hoodie:

I hand-sewed the horns out of red fleece and hot glued the triangles onto the ties (instead of making an entire tail).  I remember once seeing the exact thing made by the Emily Strange brand, for over $40!  This only cost about $3.  And I can wear it all the time.

Just in time...

I made a Halloween dress out of some velour-ish fabric. It's pretty much complete garbage, but it looks good from the outside. First, here's the fabric:

This dress is basically a circle skirt that I made too big, so I folded the fabric over in the back to make one big center pleat and sucked the pleat into the seam when I sewed the top and bottom together.  I cut the back longer than the front.  I ruched the center of the bust and added criss-cross straps.  I didn't use a pattern, but next time I'll make one so my dress comes out more even.  Here's the dress:

With the leftovers I made my cat a vest:

That's my October-a-long!
