I don’t know about you, but I’m so bored of my clothes, but so poorly inspired to make more, so I thought a craftalong was in order.

The suggestions are pretty broad, so you can sew from scratch, reconstruct or embellish bought stuff, if you're so inclined. Basic sewing skills are probably necessary, but I’m more than happy to offer help if you need it.

Here’s the deal, comment here if you want to join in and I’ll send you a reminder PM at the beginning of the month. You don’t have to complete each month, but I’d love it if you did. Post at least once a month with your update and completed projects.

Here’s the schedule, it’s for 6 months at the moment, but if there’s a good response, I’ll make it 12 months. Feel free to offer suggestions or changes.

I'll certainly join, and after watching this show on bravo, project runway, for the first time, I'm even more inspired now to make my own clothes. I didn't really like all of their stuff, but I'm so psyched to draft my own patterns now. I just need to go to the library or the bookstore and buy a pattern making book or something...Perhaps I dont even need one. I think I have a general idea of how to make the stuff I want to make...

This just might help me get through some patterns I have lying around too...

Whoopie!

I'm in! This might be just the kick in the arse I need to complete all the projects that are cluttering up my sketchbook and to-do list! Smiley Should be fun.

OMG, I am so psyched! I am totally in... I'm also teaching myself how to draft patterns right now, so this is the perfect way to keep working on that (instead of putting it down and forgetting about it like so many of my projects). I've never done a craftalong before, but I've wanted to for a while.

What's the plan for September?

We walked around 'til the moon got full like a plate,
and the wind blew an invocation and I fell asleep at the gate.
And I never stepped on the cracks 'cause I thought I'd hurt my mother.
And I couldn't awake from the nightmare that sucked me in and pulled me under, pulled me under.

I'm an idiot. I can't believe I missed a month. At least this means we can do outerwear, I'll change the schedule.

We don't get project runway here, but I've heard good things. I started my sewing life drafting patterns, so I can probably help out anyone who has questions.

I had fun looking for the tutorials, there are loads of great ones around, and it showed me that we're really lacking in the trouser tutorial department, so I might have a go at creating one. Yay!
