I'm a graphic design student.  We are getting ready to do a complete corporate identity package for a resturant.  We have to come up with the name the location, everything.  I'm doing a cafe to be located in Paducha or Berea Kentucky, very craft oriented towns.  The colors are bright and fresh, hot pink, lime green, blue, purple, you name it.  Polka dots and stripes are going to be my only patterns.  I need you guys to help me think of a name for the cafe.  It's going to be a very whimsical place.

I would like something with the word pink.  I need help.

Bo Peep's

Marmalade's

Sassafrass

I'm thinking...I gotta let those colors and patterns marinate in my brain for a little bit. Maybe I'll have something better this weekend.

I don't have an idea, actually, but Flareon's "In the Pink" is awesome!

The Pink Drink.

The signature beverage can be a pink grapefruit soda or pink lemonade.

I like "In the Pink" too!  Anyhow, I also like names that rhyme (yeah, I know...it can be construed as tacky...).  Here are my suggestions:

Pink Schmink

Pinky Winky

Not to digress, there's a Vietnamese restaurant in WA that's named "What the Pho?"  I thought that was pretty funny.

That's not as cool as "Wok In," which I seem to remember hearing somewhere!  Ha.

Vicious, I passed Wok on the Dock several times this week!

My parent's own a cafe called Mug Shotz in the same exact color schemes and patterns (stripes especially).

Let me brainstorm a bit and I'll see if I can come up with anything!

Just to start:

What kind of restaurant is it?  What kind of food does it serve?

What type of person is going to go there?  Exactly what kind of person?  (What do they do, where do they live, are they male or female, how old are they, do they have children, how much money do they make, where do they live... etc)

Who are the owners and what about the cafe is important to them and their identity?  Be specific.

How does the restaurant integrate with the community it serves? What makes it unique?  Why would you go there? What makes it special?

VERY IMPORTANT:  if the name is going to be congruent with the brand, what name can be used to both represent the feeling of the brand and the product it represents? (examples:  bonefish, republic of tea, whole foods, cupcake cafe, sprinkles, bed, bath and beyond, crate and barrel)
This is IDENTITY and is essential if you are ever going to try to sell or go public with the brand , or move it to other locations and expand operations.

Once you can answer those questions, you can more easily name the cafe.  Good luck!
