When someone asks you if you made your bag, shirt, cuff etc and you have to explain that you did not, but you potentially could have, and that someone somewhere else is walking around wearing something that you actually  made.

i have such a hard time with this one. it's so hard to explain w/o launching into a 30 min explanation about how craftster is so wonderful even though you know the person you're talking to has no desire to craft.

You know you're a Craftster when ...

you're perusing the Craigslist Free listings, and you see a post for a bunch of cello cases FREE, and you immediately think, "Now, how could I embellish/use/recon/fix up those cello cases?!?"  And then you mentally smack yourself in the forehead and hit the back button on your browser, because where the heck would you put a cello case?

There's something wrong with me ...

You pop into the supermarket for milk and you have to go by stationery aisle incase anything you can use for your craft is on sale.

This is silly, but I realized there's something wrong with me when I saw a girl with the prettiest coat on who was standing in front of me on an escalator, and the first thing that I could think of was "If I had scissors, I could cut a piece from the back of her coat without her even noticing!"

Also, when you buy stuff that's meant to be for a particular purpose, and when the shop assistant starts making questions about your project you mumble.. "oh, no.. I'm not using it for that.." and she looks at you like you're mad or something!

When the highlight of a long awaited holiday to Tasmania is meeting up with a fellow Craftster for a beer.

Cheers, Twelvety!

When you are moving out of your dorm, and you have an entire trash bag of yarn to take home. The funny part is you haven't bought yarn all semester and haveing been knitting like mad......  Embarrassed

...you're really looking forward to holidays with your parents because of the probability of going to a certain yarn store.

you go on an incredibly rare vacation, and finish a quilt top in two days instead of "relaxing"...because that IS relaxing!

When you buy your own separate pack of cds with the jewel cases just for CD swaps and you are going to need three right away, and you know you won't have a problem using the other 7.

When your prize for making it through a bad day isn't shoes anymore, it's yarn.

When the day is only okay when you are able to put on your MP3 player and knit something.
