Hey all- this is my first post of a completed project so forgive me if I am doing something wrong.  This is my first stepping stone project.  I made it for my son's Kindergarten teacher as an end of the year thank you gift.  The flower petals are all the kids faces. They don't look as washed out in person and for some reason it looks like it says 2003 but it is 2005, I guess it's because of the shadow and the font!  Lemme Know what you think!

That's very beautiful Smiley

That's awesome!!  Soooo nice to give to a teacher, too!  Such a unique gift that they can cherish (and have some use for it!)  Congrats on the job well done!

That is just too cute!

How did you get the pics under the petals?  What are the petals?  How did you get such neat lettering into the concrete, or is it plaster?  My letters would be all sloppy and ragged.  How did you do that?

Tut please!   Grin

It looks like the pedals are probably just marble magnets, minus the magnets

That is really cool! I want to *steal* the idea for my sons kindergarden teachers!!!

femmeraven- they have stamps for concrete and such that you can use for lettering, theyre rubber and sometimes cheap. I see them all the time at my craft store, and always want to do this!

Yep - Lv2ScrpBk and  Vanessa Cyanide are totally correct!  I just took pics of all the kids one day and adjusted the size to my liking, then made the marble magnets.  I also coated the back heavily with E6000 to make a waterproof seal since the stone might get wet and i didn't want the pics to smear.  I used the concrete stamps from Michaels and if i remember correctly they were 7 dollars.  It was SUPER easy and fun and EVERYONE loved it at school since all of their kids were displayed as well!  Good Luck and post pics if you make one!
