dial up beware: sorry my pics are large
You will always look like a winner with this project!

    You will need:
2 Yards of Wired Ribbon (I used 1.5" wide)
Round Patch (around 3" round size looks best)
Tote / Tshirt / Item you want to sew rosette to.

    Step 1
Zig Zag fold ribbon keeping the folds as even as possible. Once you have folded about 2/3 of the ribbon you should have plenty to make the rosette.
The wire in the ribbon is essential as it holds the folds in place.

    Step 2
Curve your folded ribbon into a circle to sit partially under the patch. I put a few stitches in to hold this into place. Make sure the frill that will show is even all the way around.

    Step 3
Cut two more pieces of ribbon to the size you want them for the ribbons of the rosette. Mine were 8"each to allow enough ribbon to hide and attatch under the patch

    Step 4
Place the two pieces of ribbon onto the bag etc where you want it to sit and lay the rosette patch on top.

Neatly hand stitch (keeping stitches very close together so it holds well) around the edge of the patch to hide stitches.

    Step 5
Add any other small touches If you wish and Voila! you are finished.

I added studs on the handle and an iron on to the inside for a little extra pizazz.
    Onto the pirate tote

    i put this inside:

Sorry if my tutes not too great .Be sure to leave me any tips.... This is my first post!
It would be lovely if anyone following this tutorial could send me photo of what they made! I find it so exciting!

These are great! I think it would be really fun to make these for awards, (you know and make them fun like yours). I am involved in a student art association and I am in charge of holding two juried shows a year.......making these would be so fun to post up by the winners!  Thanks for the tute....maybe I'll try it this week.....we'll see!!!

Where did you get the pirate patch? My best friend the pirate-freak would drool over that.
